Weekend Stuff

I attended the FAB meeting in Sioux Falls on Saturday and became a new member of the club. It was a good time and great to see so many people show up for a meeting to support their club and cycling in general. I guess now I have a dual membership going between the Lane Hogs and FAB. My opinion is you can never belong to too many bike organizations.

Sunday I was feeling the need to get out and get some fresh air so I decided to give a little snow/ice biking a try. Looking back I should have went for a walk instead. My hats off to you good people that do it everyday, but it's not for me. The temperature was a brisk 7 degrees which does not bother me a bit. The problem I have is the ice and just overall traction. I tried riding on the snow,I tried hitting all the clear spots but always felt like I was a heartbeat away from a bone shattering crash. It might not have helped that I got a good look at the kErnEl's wrist on Saturday. Will I still ride during the winter? Oh yeah, I'm just going to stick to times with I can keep the rubber on dry ground.

A Whole Lot of Nothing

That's about all I have had going on. It's cold, the weather is crappy and I think I have a bit of a case of the winter blues. I have been pretty faithful on my resolutions so far and have been getting some good cardio workouts in. I could REALLY use a good bike ride, but with no studded tires and a strong dislike for negative temperatures that might need to wait for a bit. Sounds like a bit of a thaw might be in store for us the next couple of days, I for one am ready for it.

Now back to your regularly scheduled blogging

Yep, I'm back... I'm sure all my 5 or 6 followers were just dying for me to get back in blogging mode. I hope everyone had a good holiday season. I really do like the holidays and getting together with friends and family but I'm also glad when it's done and life can get back to normal. Well as normal as it gets.

Since it's now 2009 I guess everyone is busy making and breaking New Year resolutions. I've got a couple of New Year resolutions/goals I'm going to work for. I believe in the KISS (keep it simple stupid) method for resolutions so here they are...

1. Ride my bike more... farther and harder.

2. Eat less and better.

3. Finish Gut-Check.

There you have it my quick and simple resolutions/goals for 2009.
